Hello Non-Toxic Friends!

Is the butter in your fridge right now working for your health, or against it? For generations, butter was a simple food churned from cream. Many products lining grocery store shelves are far from that traditional staple today. Some are ultra-processed spreads made with industrial seed oils, while even many “real” butters come from cows raised on grain-heavy diets with the help of routine antibiotics.

This week, we’re diving deep into the butter aisle. You’ll learn which options can quietly drive inflammation, which deliver better nutrients like vitamin K2 and omega-3s, and why grass-fed butter can be a smarter investment for your health and wallet.

If you’ve ever stood before the dairy case wondering whether to grab margarine, Kerrygold, or that mysterious New Zealand brand, this guide will clear up the confusion and show you what’s worth bringing home.

What’s Happening

This past weekend, I had the honor of speaking at the CPK Symposium, which was a truly full-circle moment for me. I shared about a huge project I’ve been working on behind the scenes, CytoDetox, and announced something I’m incredibly proud of: we have officially received our patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office!

This is an amazing leap forward, and THEN being able to discuss this moment with a room full of leaders, practitioners, and healers made it more special. The energy in that room reminded me that our mission to create safe, effective solutions for detox and cellular health is really resonating.

My biggest takeaway from the event? Progress happens when passion meets persistence. This patent represents years of dedication, but more importantly, it’s a step forward for all of us who believe in natural, non-toxic health. I can’t wait to share more about this with you!

Is the Butter in Your Fridge Toxic?

Butter might seem like one of the most straightforward foods on the shelf. For generations, it was churned from fresh cream, used in home cooking, and considered a natural staple. But in today’s food environment, butter is not always what it seems…

The Toxic Secret Hiding in Magic Erasers

Most households have a drawer or closet full of cleaning supplies, from sprays to scrubs to specialized tools that promise to make life easier. One of the most popular in recent years is the so-called “Magic Eraser,” a white foam sponge that wipes away stains like…well, magic. It looks harmless, feels light, and has no chemical smell. But here’s the truth..…

Top 3 Hormone-Disrupting Products Hiding in Your Bathroom

Most people think of the bathroom as a place of hygiene and cleanliness. It’s where you prepare for the day, wind down at night, and care for some of the most basic human needs. But hidden in plain sight are everyday products that can introduce harmful chemicals into your body, disrupt your hormones, and impact your long-term health…

The Egg Label Lie: Cage-Free & Free-Range Exposed

Eggs are often marketed as one of the most wholesome foods you can put on your table. They’re packed with protein, contain healthy fats, and can be an affordable option for breakfast or cooking. But in today’s grocery stores, the egg aisle has become a maze of labels: cage-free, free-range, organic, pasture-raised, omega-3 enriched, and the list goes on...

Non-Toxic Tip of the Week

Don’t just think about what brand of butter you buy: think about how you use it. Heat changes the chemistry of fats, and when butter is scorched at high temperatures, it can produce compounds that can harm your health. .

👉Instead of frying everything in butter, use it where it shines: low- to medium-heat cooking, spreading on warm foods, or melting into vegetables and grains. For high-heat sautéing, pair your grass-fed butter with a stable fat, such as avocado oil, tallow, or ghee. That way, you retain the nutritional value of clean butter while avoiding the risks associated with overheating it.

My Go-To Carbon Steel Pan

The other night I was cooking dinner and caught myself thinking about how much time we actually spend around the stove. It’s one of those places where little choices matter — the food we cook, the tools we use, and how they’ll hold up over the years. I’ve been breaking in a new skillet lately, and it’s a reminder that sometimes the simple, sturdy things end up being the best investment for family meals.

Non-Toxic Recipe of the Week

Cook Clean with Grass-Fed Butter

This week’s recipe showcases a straightforward approach to cooking with clean ingredients, featuring grass-fed butter. Garlic Herb Butter Veggies is a quick, nutrient-packed side dish that showcases how to preserve the vitamins, omega-3s, and CLA in pasture-raised butter. By using low- to medium-heat cooking and finishing steamed vegetables with a touch of garlic and fresh herbs, you get a flavorful, anti-inflammatory dish that supports health without relying on processed oils or additives. It’s an easy way to make everyday meals both delicious and non-toxic.

This Week on Social Media, I talked about:

Before You Go…

Remember when buying butter, opt for grass-fed New Zealand butter! It’s the most nutrient-dense and most cost-effective butter you can find. Additionally, avoid cooking with butter on high heat; instead, opt for clarified butter (ghee), tallow, or avocado oil for high-heat cooking. Happy cooking!
