Non-Toxic Dad News: September 26, 2024
Hello, Non-Toxic Friends,
This week, let’s talk about one of my favorite kitchen essentials: rosemary. This isn’t just any herb—it’s a true super herb that packs a powerful punch in more ways than one.
Pain Relief and Brain Protection: Rosemary is a natural powerhouse for reducing pain and inflammation, boosting brain health, and even easing anxiety.
Cooking with Benefits: When you cook with rosemary, you add flavor and protect your food from oxidative stress. Plus, rosemary helps reduce exposure to harmful compounds like acrylamides and heterocyclic amines (HCAs) that form when food is cooked at high temperatures or charred.
In my kitchen, rosemary is a go-to for more than just seasoning. I love adding it to teas (a great way to enjoy its anti-headache benefits and enhance the flavor of warm fall and winter drinks) and tossing it in the pan when sautéing veggies or cooking meat. It’s a simple, tasty way to keep things non-toxic.
If you haven’t started yet, now’s the perfect time to sniff, sip, and savor the benefits of rosemary.

Learn more about Warren, the man behind “Non-Toxic Dad.”
![]() | Meet Warren P. Phillips, founder of Non-Toxic Dad, a man who turned his health struggles into a mission to help others. His story begins like so many of ours—with a body that suddenly seemed to betray him, despite his efforts to live well. After spending six years working as an environmental consultant, cleaning up hazardous waste sites and abandoned mines, Warren began struggling with his health. His body felt foreign, plagued by a range of symptoms that sound all too familiar to anyone who’s ever dealt with unexplainable health issues: twitching eyes and face, constant fatigue, stubborn weight gain, insomnia, anxiety, and chronic neck and back pain. |
Maybe you’ve been there too—often unexplainable symptoms, with mainstream medicine offering little more than band-aids. And when Warren turned to natural detox methods, hoping for a cure, they only made him worse. But instead of giving up, he turned to his background in research. With a Master’s in Geology and a focus on how heavy metals and toxins interact in the environment, Warren began searching for answers outside conventional medicine, seeking out ways to live a truly non-toxic lifestyle.
What Warren discovered is clinoptilolite, a rare zeolite mineral with the ability to trap and remove toxins from the body at the cellular level—something NASA had used back in the 1960s to clean up environmental toxins in space. As he dug deeper, Warren realized clinoptilolite held the key to cleaning out the toxic build-up that had been wreaking havoc on his body.
Testing product after product, both in the lab and on himself, Warren’s determination led him to refine and perfect the use of clinoptilolite. He was relentless in his pursuit, driven by the same frustration and desperation that any of us with chronic symptoms can understand. Collaborating with experts, he developed Cytodetox, a supplement designed to harness clinoptilolite’s powerful detoxifying properties. |
Imagine finding something that finally works—a supplement that binds to heavy metals and chemicals at the cellular level and safely eliminates them from your body. For Warren, this wasn’t just a product; it was a lifeline. His health was restored. He lost weight, felt his energy come flooding back, and his anxiety disappeared. Through Cytodetox, Warren experienced the transformation so many of us dream about—better sleep, clearer thinking, and the physical relief we crave when our bodies feel burdened by toxins.
But Warren’s journey didn’t end with his healing. Instead, he felt compelled to help others experience the same transformation. Non-Toxic Dad was born from his desire to share his findings and empower others to take control of their health. Warren wants people to know they don’t have to accept unexplained symptoms—whether it’s anxiety, sluggishness, weight gain, or brain fog—as their new normal. His mission is to help others reclaim their vitality and reconnect with their spiritual and physical well-being.
Warren’s story is all too familiar. He’s walked the path of frustration, exhaustion, and confusion that so many of us know too well. And now, with Cytodetox, he offers not just hope but a real solution. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the possibility of healing. Through his work, Warren invites us all to believe that our stories don’t have to end in pain—but can be transformed into a promise of better health and a better life.

Non-Toxic Tip of the Week: Make Your Own Herb-Infused Olive Oil

This week, we’re upgrading your kitchen with a simple and flavorful upgrade: herb-infused extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). This adds incredible flavor to your dishes and also packs in the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits of fresh herbs like rosemary. Plus, making your own infused oil ensures you get all the benefits without unwanted additives.
Here’s how to make your own cold-pressed herb-infused EVOO with rosemary—or any of your favorite herbs!
What You’ll Need:
1 cup organic cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil
3-4 sprigs of fresh organic rosemary (or any herb of choice: thyme, basil, oregano)
A clean glass bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid
How to Make Herb-Infused Olive Oil:
Wash and Dry the Herbs: Thoroughly wash the rosemary sprigs and pat them completely dry. Ensure no moisture is left, as water can cause the oil to spoil or grow bacteria.
Heat the Oil (Optional for Quicker Infusion): If you want a faster infusion, gently warm the olive oil in a small saucepan over low heat—do not let it reach a boil. Warm it just until you see tiny bubbles forming, then remove from heat. This step is optional but helps speed up the infusion process.
Add the Herbs: Place the rosemary sprigs in your clean, dry glass bottle or jar. Pour the warm oil (or room temperature if skipping the heating step) over the herbs, filling the container.
Seal and Store: Seal the bottle tightly and store it in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks to allow the flavors to infuse. Shake the bottle gently every few days to mix the herbs and oil.
Strain and Enjoy: After 1-2 weeks, strain the oil into a clean bottle to remove the herbs. Your herb-infused olive oil is now ready to use!
How to Use It: Drizzle your rosemary-infused EVOO over salads, roasted vegetables, and grilled meats, or use it as a dip for fresh bread. It’s a delicious way to elevate your dishes while adding rosemary's health benefits to your everyday meals.
Pro Tip: Always use cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for the best quality and health benefits, as it retains the most nutrients and has no harmful processing chemicals.
Enjoy this simple infusion that adds a non-toxic, antioxidant-rich twist to your cooking!
