Hello Non-Toxic Friends!
Your tooth enamel doesn’t need as much help to repair itself as some dentists believe. In a recent chat with Dr. Gerald, a holistic dentist with over 40 years of experience, we delved into the topic of Nanohydroxyapatite—nano particles that some dentists highly recommend for repairing tooth enamel.
While your teeth and bones are indeed made of hydroxyapatite, you might not need to supplement with more of it to heal any damage. Dr. Gerald emphasized that your oral microbiome, a powerful natural ally, has the ability to heal enamel by creating its own hydroxyapatite, utilizing ionic minerals from your saliva.
Interestingly, using the “Nanohydroxyapatite” version may be doing more harm than good. These nano particles are small enough to bypass your body’s natural defenses, potentially causing health issues. Dr. Gerald strongly advises against their use, advocating instead for nurturing your oral microbiome. By taking care of it, your mouth will naturally repair your enamel without the need for these artificial additives.
In this edition of the NTD Weekly Newsletter, we explore holistic dental care and provide tips on maintaining a healthy oral microbiome for optimal enamel repair.

The Root Canal Debate: Risks & Alternatives
Root canals are a common dental procedure for treating infected or damaged teeth. Despite their prevalence, there is growing concern about the potential risks associated with root canal, including the possibility of trapped bacteria, infections, and other health complications. This blog explores why some experts advise against root canals and highlight three safer alternatives: tooth extraction with a zirconia implant, tooth extraction with a zirconia bridge, and pulpal regeneration using stem cells.
Harnessing the Power of Ice Baths for Asthma Relief
Asthma, a chronic respiratory condition characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, affects millions of people worldwide. Traditional treatments include inhalers, steroids, and various medications aimed at reducing symptoms and preventing attacks. However, in recent years, alternative therapies have gained attention, one of which is the use of ice baths. This blog delves into the potential benefits of ice baths for asthma sufferers, the science behind their effectiveness, and how to incorporate them into a treatment regimen safely.
Adult Makeup: Cancelled
In an era where self-care and beauty routines are celebrated, it’s shocking to discover that many products we use daily contain potentially harmful chemicals. Makeup, a staple in many people’s daily lives, is no exception. Despite the rise of awareness about clean beauty, the industry remains largely unregulated, with many products still harboring ingredients linked to serious health issues, including cancer, reproductive harm, and neurological damage.
Non-Toxic Tip of the Week: 5 Ways to Naturally Improve Your Mouth Health

Brush with Natural Toothpaste: Choose toothpaste that contains natural ingredients like coconut oil, baking soda, and essential oils. These ingredients help maintain a healthy oral environment without the harmful effects of synthetic chemicals.
Eat a Nutrient-Rich Diet: Include foods high in calcium and phosphorus in your diet. These nutrients support enamel strength and overall oral health. Foods like pasture-raised meat and dairy products, nuts, and fish are excellent choices.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of filtered water helps clean your mouth by washing away food particles and bacteria. It also promotes saliva production, which is crucial for neutralizing acids.
Practice Good Oral Hygiene: Brush your teeth at least twice daily and floss daily to remove plaque and prevent gum disease. Using a soft-bristled, non-toxic toothbrush and gentle strokes can help avoid enamel erosion.
Avoid Sugary and Acidic Foods: Limit your intake of sugary snacks and drinks, as they can lead to tooth decay. Acidic foods and beverages, like soda and citrus fruits, can erode enamel. If you consume these, rinse your mouth with water afterward to help neutralize the acids.
By incorporating these tips into your daily routine, you can naturally improve your mouth health and support your body’s ability to repair and protect your tooth enamel.
